If you think technical diving may be the route you are going to follow when you take up scuba diving then perhaps you should consider a Wing type configuration.This basically means you can modularise your buoyancy control, meaning you buy a harness and then add on whichever bladder suits the type of diving you will be doing.

Modular technical diving wings and bladders allow you to adjust the amount of lift you need for each dive and setup. Simply chose the amount of lift you require and the redundancy option of a second bladder based on your setup. Single Cylinder Wings are much more compact and shaped for a single cylinder with minimal lift. Twin Cylinder Wings have large central sections to allow for twin cylinders and have larger lift capacities to allow for heavier setups. Donut Wings are shaped like donuts so gas inside can migrate all around the wing easily. Donuts allow the buoyancy to wrap around the cylinder and hold you in a nice horizontal position. Horseshoe Wings are preferred by some divers so the base of the wing doesn’t get trapped under the cylinders when stood upright but gas can get trapped in one lobe and become harder to migrate around to a dump valve when needed.
